Being Proactive

There are two aspects to being proactive – one short-term and the other long-term. When we are anxious or worried about something we tend to put all our energy into the very things we can’t control – other people’s thoughts and behaviours, the economy etc. The minute we bring that locus of control back to ourselves we start to feel much better and we influence what we can’t control. Long-term it’s about proactively moving towards our goals – creating opportunities and acting on our own initiative. This bypasses any tendency to procrastinate – which 90% of us all have!
