A must-read for anyone seeking to develop personally and professionally, and not at the surface level but deep change that brings around lasting impact. As a coach, I’ll be adding this to my very select list of recommended reading for my clients, and I am confident it will positively impact them as it has me.

This very readable and well laid out book is about the “what, why and how” with more practical exercises to develop these skills. Now with a chapter on happiness this book pulls together the essence of what we each need to develop and use each day to live a fulfilled, rewarding and happy life. Whilst we can’t control what goes on around us we can control how we respond and navigate our way through life...we are masters of our own destiny! Highly recommended.

Emma-Sue Prince takes you one a personal journey. Her story creates an excellent starting point and includes details which make you want to understand how she changed her life around. The sections designed to make you stop and think and then consciously try out the techniques described are undoubtedly the most useful, but by far the most riveting parts are the case studies. There is so much to be gained by understanding how people have applied the coaching to their own lives. I had trouble locating the book after it arrived in my school, Wimbledon School of English, as my managers had already earmarked it as potential material for the "Young Leaders" course to be taught at our junior summer schools this year!

I really appreciate your tone of voice in the book - the same as in the podcast: soothing and deep, like velvet. Exactly as I've known you in person. I truly appreciate your authenticity. If I'll ever write a book myself, I'd love to be able to do just that. That's so inspiring.

Extremely thought provoking and enriching! You can open the book at any page and be immediately engaged. I enjoy the fact that I can dip into any chapter on a daily basis to challenge myself into becoming more self aware and reflective.

A very accessible book which I found surprisingly helpful and practical. These are skills we think we know but Emma Sue brings a fresh take on them and gives you tips on how to develop them in your day to life. I really found the book motivating and inspiring. I also recommend her pod casts which have taken on a ‘life coach’ feel for me.

Great read, easy and accessible to understand and most importantly absolutely relevant! Once I picked it up I could not put it down and finished it with 3 days. I really liked the tips and exercises that help you develop the skills and I have been thinking how I can get my daughter to develop the skills as they are so important.

As a coach and as a lecturer in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, I can appreciate how Emma-Sue has been able to transform part of the cutting-edge theory into practice. She presents a text that may well help readers to raise their awareness and work towards the development of their adaptability, critical thinking, empathy, integrity, optimism, being proactive and resilience. These are the seven soft skills the author has chosen to help readers to take control, design and start living a purposeful life. A must read.

This book is a must-read for all of us right now, because, as the author says, the future is already here. Which are the vital skills we need to equip ourselves with? How can we get prepared? How should we practice them every single day? The answers to these (and many other) questions are in this beautifully written book. I highly appreciate the great collection of recent studies and research that the author effectively embedded into the text – very useful for anyone interested in bettering oneself. Also, theory and practice go very well hand in hand. There are lots of case studies, exercises, try-this sections, as the author is drawing on her resourcefulness and own experience as a trainer, with plenty of real-life examples and tips. So, the book is a very enjoyable read, while being thought-provoking, at the same time. Definitely a must-read!
